Charlotte, NC-based Boone/Oakley is claiming to be the first ad agency to market a complete creative package for auction on eBay.
Bidding ends Nov. 14, and there is no minimum bid required. The winner will receive two weeks creative work, resulting in three concepts to choose from, and all necessary production supervision.
The agency will provide a written guarantee that, if the spot airs on the Super Bowl, it will place among USA Today’s “Top Ten Spots of the Super Bowl” for 2004, or the full bid will be refunded.
Asked why his agency would make such an unusual offer, Creative director David Oakley explained in a statement why the agency came up with the idea: “We must be nuts.”
They’re not completely crazy however: Production and media costs, as well as out-of-pocket expenses are not included.
The agency’s clients include MTV2, NASCAR, Sci-Fi Channel and Continental Tire.
