Advo Adds Newspapers

Cooperative mailer Advo Inc., Windsor, CT, plans to distribute its print advertising products in newspapers, instead of only by mail. The company is in discussion with several large metropolitan-area newspapers in select markets to begin forming partnerships. Advo traditionally has mailed its pieces to 60 million households each week. Newspapers have been its competitors. The company also intends to add second mailing dates in strategic markets around the nation. A strategic business development group has been formed to pursue these two initiatives. Henry Evans, formerly Advo’s senior vice president of operations, is heading up the new group.
