Acxiom Revenue Up: Acquisitions Reflected in Net Loss

Acxiom Corp., Conway, AR, had fourth-quarter 1998 revenue of $208.9 million a 29% increase from fourth-quarter 1997. Net earnings for the quarter were $19.6 million, up 39% from $14.1 million. For the year, Acxiom’s revenue was just under $730 million, up 28% from $569 million in 1997. Net earnings were $65.5 million, up 34% from $49 million.

In fiscal 1998, the company showed a net loss of $16.4 million. The loss resulted mostly from charges to the acquisition of May & Speh, three database marketing units from Deluxe Corp., and other purchases both made and pending.

The quarter and the year ended March 31.
