Travelocity.com, the online division of Sabre Holding Corp., and Preview Travel Inc. have merged to create a new company combining Travelocity with Preview Travel. The new company will be 70% owned by Sabre and 30% owned by Preview Travel stockholders.
The new company has entered into a five-year agreement with America Online, Inc., to be the ISP’s exclusive reservations engine for all its portals: AOL.COM, CompuServe, Digital City, and Netscape as well as AOL. In addition, Yahoo! Inc. has extended its existing contract with Travelocity.com and will invest in the new company.
