ZDNet to Launch Online Loyalty Points Program

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

ZDNet, a Web destination for people who want to buy, use and learn about technology, and MyPoints.com, an Internet direct marketing and loyalty program developer, will jointly develop “ZDNet Points,” a loyalty program for San Francisco-based ZDNet. ZDNet Points will provide a variety of incentives, rewarding ZDNet’s participants and encouraging an increasing percentage of visitors to make ZDNet their home base.

The ZDNet Points program should begin in the first quarter of 2000. Points earned in the program will be redeemable for a wide variety of products and services, such as travel awards, gift certificates, and prepaid phone cards, from brand-name rewards providers.

Primedia, the parent company of DIRECT Newsline, is a partial owner of MyPoints.com.
