Yahoo! Inc., Santa Clara, CA, has launched Yahoo! Birthday Club, a permission-based promotion Yahoo! Birthday Club delivers messages to users who have opted-in to receive special offers.
The personalized birthday e-mail greetings include digital gift certificates from selected advertisers and merchants which can be redeemed by the recipient on the advertisers’ or merchants’ online sites. Charter sponsors included Eddie Bauer, Lowestfare.com, mammothgolf.com and Bluefly.com.
Advertisers must provide Yahoo! members with an offer exclusive to Yahoo! Birthday Club (valid for a minimum of 30 days from the date e-mails are sent), and have the ability to handle redeemable coupons or promotional transactions.
