XM Satellite Radio Offers Valentine’s Day Incentives

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, XM Satellite Radio is offering some sweet incentives to boost sales.

Under a special holiday promotion, the company is doling out free sportscaster radios to current XM subscribers. Members can take home the plug and play radio device, which features 30 preset sports channels with a six-month purchase of a pre-paid service. The radio normally sells for $59.99.

“It’s a nice way to thank our subscribers for getting the word out on XM,” company spokesperson Marie Farrar said.

That’s not all. XM is also offering a deep discount on its Roady XT radio. Subscribers can buy the radio through Feb. 14 for $9.99, more than more than 80% off the typical $79.99 retail price.

In-store signage at Best Buy and Circuit City stores and online materials at XMRadio.com will support the promotion. In addition, XM is sending out e-mails to its opt-in subscribers to explain the offer.

The incentives are part of XM’s ongoing push to reward current subscribers and entice new members to sign on, Farrar said.

About 7.6 million people subscribe to XM Satellite Radio.
