Wunderman Buys Interactive Shop

Wunderman has bought interactive agency ZAAZ to beef up Web marketing services within its Global Digital Network.

WPP-owned Wunderman adds Seattle-based ZAAZ to its network that includes digital shop VML and data service providers KnowledgeBase Marketing and Fortelligent. ZAAZ's Web design, creative, search marketing and analytics work complement Wunderman's current services.

"Success in the digital world requires marketers to capture the right data from the Web, said Wunderman CEO Daniel Morel in a statement. "The greater challenge is understanding exactly how to transform the wealth of data into meaningful insights and create actionable marketing plans. That's where ZAAZ stands out from other interactive agencies."

ZAAZ keeps its name, headquarters and current management, led by its co-founders, CEO Shane Atchison and COO Dave Brede. Clients include Microsoft, Converse, Helio, E*Trade, Qwest, Intel, Alcoa, Blockbuster, Expedia, Reuters, Faconnable and National Geographic.

"Combining [Wunderman's] strong heritage in relationship marketing and CRM with our unique expertise in Web analytics, user experience and design enables us to provide our clients an even greater ability to attract new customers, strengthen existing customer relationships and increase the overall value of the Web to their businesses," Atchison said in a statement.
