ValueVision Expands Reach With Two Carry Agreements

ValueVision, a Minneapolis-based home shopping network, has signed agreements with two television programming providers. ValueVision’s total reach will climb to 23 million full-time subscribers, up from around 15 million, as a result of the deals.

In one deal, Littleton, CO-based EchoStar signed a five-year deal in which ValueVision’s programming will be transmitted via EchoStar’s DISH Network DBS system, which currently serves over 2.4 million customers. The deal is effective immediately.

In the second, which will be effective July 31, DIRECTV will carry ValueVision to its 5.1 million subscriber households.

Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
