USPS Names Strickland Chief Privacy Officer

The U.S. Postal Service has named Zoe Strickland its chief privacy officer.

Strickland’s appointment to the newly created post was announced today by Stephen M. Kearney, the postal service’s senior vice president, corporate and business development at the 2001 Global Internet Summit being held at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA.

Strickland will oversee and coordinate the development and implementation of postal service online privacy policies, management practices, and technologies. She will report directly to USPS consumer advocate and vice president, consumer affairs, Francia Smith.

A staff attorney in the postal service’s general counsel’s office for the last 10 years, Strickland is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Law School.
