Urban Outfitters Inc. reported first quarter income of $14.1 million, up 76% from $8 million last year.
The cataloger and retailer posted net sales of $142.3 million for the quarter ended Oct. 31, up 29% from about $110.3 million last year.
The Philadelphia company attributed these results to a 48% increase in direct-to-consumer sales, as well as a 23% increase in its number of stores and 17% growth in sales at stores open at least a year.
