United Parcel Service has reduced its package delivery guaranteed times in several major metropolitan markets nationwide, a change the company estimates will improve service for 1.2 million customers.
Enhancements to the shipping firm’s ground delivery network will affect more than 3 million Zip codes. Pick-up and delivery hours have not been changed.
The reduction in delivery times means for example shipments between Atlanta and the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are now guaranteed to arrive in two business days, instead of three. Similarly, shipments between Los Angeles and Washington, DC are now guaranteed to arrive in four days, instead of five.
Other markets affected by this change are Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth and San Antonio.
