Universal and BMG Expand GetMusic Internationally

Universal Music Group, Universal City, CA and BMG Entertainment have internationally expanded GetMusic LLC, the two companies online music content and commerce joint venture.

The multiple-year commitment expands GetMusic from the U.S. to markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Plans call for customizing overseas offerings of the New York-based online community of music fans with country-specific content and language. Under the direction of Andrew Nibley, GetMusic’s president and CEO, operations will be spearheaded from an office in London. The first phase of the roll out will include the U.K., France, Germany and Japan.

GetMusic was founded in April 1999.
