Two Top Execs Depart Kraft; One Joins Unilever

Irene Rosenfeld, the president of Kraft Foods, Inc. North American businesses, has resigned to pursue other opportunities after less than a year on the job.

Rosenfeld was named to the newly created position last September. Her position will not be replaced and the heads of the businesses that she oversaw will report to Kraft CEO Betsy Holden, according to news reports.

Michael Polk, the group VP for the North American biscuit business responsible for Oreo cookies, is also leaving the company after 16 years. Polk has accepted a position as senior VP-marketing and COO of Unilever Bestfoods North America.

Replacing Polk is Daryl Brewster, formerly group VP of Kraft Foods North America and president of Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico. He will be responsible for a portfolio of products that includes Planters peanuts and Altoids mints, in addition to Oreos.
