Two colleagues from Cahners Business Information eLogic division perished aboard one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center.
Jeff Mladenik, the interim CEO for eLogic and Andrew Curry Green, the director of business development for the division, were aboard American flight 11 when it was flown into One World Trade Center, the first tower to be struck on Sept. 11. The two were travelling from Boston to Los Angeles on their way to the eLogic offices there.
Mladenik was also the vice president of market development for Cahners Business Information electronics division.
A part-time pastor, Mladenik, 43, and his wife, Sue, have four children. The couple lived in Hinsdale, IL. Green was 34 years old and lived in Santa Monica, CA, with his wife, Shannon. Mladenik was based in Des Plaines, IL, while Green worked from Los Angles, where he had recently moved.
“Jeff and Andrew will be missed by all of us at Cahners,” CEO Gerard van de Aast said. “They were consummate professionals and close friends. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with their family and friends, as well as with their colleagues throughout Cahners.”
Cahners has established a special memorial fund to benefit the families of Mladenik and Green, as well as other company employees whose immediate families may have been impacted by the terrorist attacks.
