Transcontinental Ties 24% Income Drop to Mortgage Crisis

Transcontinental posted net income of $38.6 million for the fourth quarter, a 24% decrease from $51.1 million in the prior year.

The direct marketing services and printing company reported revenue of $618 million for the quarter ended Oct. 31, a 2% increase over revenue of $605 million last year.

The Montreal firm attributed these results in part to currency fluctuations and the effects of the “mortgage crisis in the United States on our direct marketing activities since last July.”
