Time Warner is mulling selling or spinning off its America Online division, according to the New York Post.
Time Warner’s bankers at Goldman Sachs are putting together a proposal for the Internet business, which continues to generate significant cash flow, despite a sharp drop-off in subscribers.
At Time Warner’s next board meeting, in April, AOL chief Jonathan Miller is set to present an update on the division’s business, sources said.
After that meeting, executives are expected to consider the various options for AOL.
