April episodes of Dateline NBC will feature approximately two hours of stories promoting Donald Trump and his reality series, The Apprentice.
As the series finale on April 15 approaches, experts are wondering whether television networks are using news programs as vehicles for promotion, according to The Associated Press.
On April 14, a full hour of Dateline will focus on a behind-the-scenes look at the reality program, in which contestants compete for an executive position within Trump’s business empire. A profile on Donald Trump will run April 16.
Additionally, eliminated contestants from The Apprentice are featured on NBC’s Today on Friday mornings following their termination from the Thursday night program. Today has also brought Trump on to judge contestants for the next edition of his reality series, and ran its own version of the game featuring interns.
