Study Shows Dell, HP and SAP Tops in International Language Sites

Dell Computer, Hewlett-Packard (including Compaq Computer) and SAP are the leaders in providing language-compliant international Web sites, according to a new survey.

The study, conducted this summer by Boston’s Summit Strategies, evaluated all of the international Web sites operated by IBM, HP, Compaq, Dell, Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Nortel Networks, SAP and Oracle. The study also audited the sites of additional vendors on Summit’s siteIQ E-Business Index, including Microsoft, Computer Associates, Novell, Lawson Software and PeopleSoft.

“Most U.S.-based IT vendors flunk the globalization test, and do not pay sufficient attention to the real needs of their international buyers,” said Marty Gruhn, vice president and practice director for Summit Strategies’ Vendor E-Business Best Practices and Vendor E-Business Strategies advisory services.
