Sprint Strikes Web Deal With MySpace

Sprint will be the first U.S. wireless carrier with a direct link to the MySpace Mobile Web site when the site launches early next year.

Sprint customers with enabled mobile phones will have click-through access to MySpace from the Sprint portal, rather than typing in a Web address. A beta version of the new site has been accessible at http://mobile.myspace .com since September.

Sprint users will also be able to link directly to several Fox Interactive Media sites, including IGN, FoxSports.com on MSN, Rotten Tomatoes, AskMen and MyFOX local affiliate sites.

“By providing a link to these sites, we’re making it even easier for customers to use their phones to access their MySpace accounts and other online services that are important to them,” said John Burris, Sprint vice president of wireless data content, in a statement.

Sprint and Fox have maintained a partnership in the mobile content space since 2002, when Sprint first offered sports news and scores from FoxSports.com.
