Sony PlayStation 2 Re-Ups Warped Tour Sponsorship

Sony Computer Entertainment America’s PlayStation 2 is staging a Be a Warped Tour Roadie contest, as part of its sponsorship of this year’s Vans Warped Tour.

PlayStation 2 has sponsored the action sports Warped Tour for the past nine years. This year’s 45-stop tour kicks off today in Boise, ID, and runs through Aug. 10.

Consumers can enter the Roadie contest in 10 of the tour’s markets via radio promotions. A grand-prize winner from each market will travel to one of the tour’s stops and partake in backstage details such as production, ticketing, catering and manning the PlayStation 2 tent. On the final day of the four-day stint, winners will receive an all-access pass to the festival.

Foster City, CA-based Sony handles the effort in-house. Additional Vans Warped Tour sponsors include Spin Magazine, Yoo-hoo and Kraft Easy Mac.
