As the price of gas keeps rising with the temperature, Six Flags America is offering a buy-one, get-one-free deal on admissions at most of its regional theme parks through July.
For the cost of one $49.99 admission ticket, park-goers will get two tickets. Tickets for kids (48 inches tall or under) are being reduced by $10 to $24.99. The discounts apply at 12 of Six Flags’ parks nationwide.
Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.sixflags.com. Alternatively, the discount applies to people who bring a Coca-Cola can to one of the parks.
The amusement park chain sees an opportunity to encourage attendance at its parks during a vacation season when many will be opting out of big-ticket trips and staying close to home.
“We’re in a good position because we’re a regional theme park company,” said Six Flags spokesperson Sandra Daniels. “This offer provides more bang for the buck. If you’re choosing to stay home, this is a good way to do it.”
Initial response to the two-fer offer has been strong since the promotion commenced over the Memorial Day weekend, according to Daniels, who said the parks had seen a “spike” in attendance.
