Shift Toward Mole Sauce and Mariachis for Travel Planners

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Business meeting and incentive travel planners are looking to warm climes this year as destinations of choice.

Trendy destinations Los Cabos and Cancun, both among Mexico’s luxury resorts, ranked among the top 10 on Maritz Travel’s Top Ten List for 2005.

Maritz reviewed worldwide business meetings and incentive programs sold, pending and presented, and came up with the following top destinations:

  • Scottsdale/Phoenix
  • Las Vegas
  • Los Cabos
  • Orlando
  • San Diego
  • Chicago
  • Cancun
  • New York
  • Dallas
  • Miami
  • “Business meeting and incentive travel planners are choosing these destinations for a variety of interesting reasons,” said Alicia Feito, VP-industry relations for Maritz Travel. “Their employees or customers are looking for more tropical locales that offer a number of all-inclusive resorts, giving planners a way to maximize budgets, while they are also requesting destinations with a greater variety of activities, particularly adventure travel options.”
