Sharper Image Corp. reported a net loss of $260,000 for the first quarter, a massive improvement over the $2.8 million it lost during the same period last year.
Total revenues for the cataloger and retailer increased 33% to $92.8 million, from $69.8 million. The quarter ended April 30.
Catalog sales of $28.8 million were a 60% increase over last year’s $18 million. Internet sales rose 18% to $11.5 million from $9.7 million.
“Each major sales channel–stores, Web site, and catalog including television infomercials–enjoyed double-digit percentage increases over last year,” CEO Richard Thalheimer said in a statement.
