The E. W. Scripps Co. will acquire Shopzilla, a comparison shopping search engine company, for $525 million.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
Shopzilla will become a stand-alone operating unit of Scripps, which reportedly will retain its senior managers, including CEO Chuck Davis, COO John Phelps and CFO Brad Kates.
