E-Save Network, Harrison, NY, has launched a Web-based multiple rebate system as an alternative to Internet coupons. Consumers enroll as members on the e-Save Web site (www.e-save.com), which lists rebate offers from a variety of manufacturers and sends members a single check after each shopping trip.
The system creates a database that allows manufacturers to customize offers to individual consumers, based on buying preferences and/or demographic data. A “shielding” feature can provide manufacturers with category exclusivity following initial consumer redemption. E-Save will leverage that database to provide brand managers info on buying habits.
