Approximately 67% of realtors use the Internet for business purposes, and a rapidly growing number of consumers are searching for a home online, according to a new study of potential home buyers by the National Association of Realtors.
The study also found that 23% of all potential home buyers searched for a home online, and that 58% of all potential buyers surveyed believe online searching is extremely valuable or very valuable.
An earlier NAR survey in 1995 showed only 2% of home buyers were using the Internet as a search tool.
“Nine out of 10 real estate professionals using the Internet generate at least 1% of their business online, and it’s pretty clear the only way to go is up,” said NAR president Sharon A. Millett, in a statement.
