Ralph Drybrough Leaves Direct Media

Ralph Drybrough, senior vice president of business list services for Direct Media Inc., left the employ of the company on Tuesday.

Sources said that Drybrough’s departure sent shock waves through the firm and calls into the question the tentative agreement reached last month for management to buyback Direct Media from Conway, AR-based Acxiom Corp.

It was unclear whether Drybrough’s departure was voluntary or involuntary.

A source at the Greenwich, CT-based firm yesterday confirmed Drybrough’s departure but declined comment on circumstances surrounding the event.

Drybrough, reached at his home last night, also declined comment.

The buyback was to include both the consumer and business-to-business divisions, which had often been at odds over the terms of the agreement. Acxiom acquired Direct Media in 1996.
