As a part of its tie-in with the “Spy Kids” sequel, Minneapolis-based Radisson Hotels & Resorts yesterday kicked off an extensive radio effort in 21 markets. “Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams” from Los Angeles-based Miramax’s Dimension Films division opens tomorrow.
A radio giveaway will throw callers a Radisson room-party that includes a screening of the first “Spy Kids” movie. One caller from each market scores a trip for four to another party at the Radisson Hotel in Culver City, CA, and meet-and-greets with the movie’s stars.
The hotel chain is offering a Go Spy Kids 2 Family Package all month, which includes a low family rate and spy-related toys for kids. An Axiom “Spy Utility” vehicle from film partner American Isuzu will be hidden in nine cities from Aug. 11 to 18 for consumers to find via radio clues. The first person to find the vehicle in each city wins a Radisson Go Spy Kids 2 Family Package. The Regan Group, Los Angeles, handles for Radisson.
