QVC to Open Broadcast Store at Mall of America

QVC Inc., West Chester, PA, plans to open a store with broadcasting capabilities at Mall of America in Bloomington, MN.

QVC @ The Mall, a subsidiary of home shopping company QVC, will display the same merchandise that customers can acquire through QVC’s television program. Store visitors can see, touch and purchase products right there in the store. Television programs will also be produced from that retail location.

QVC @ The Mall tested a 500-square-foot temporary space with a limited-term lease. Based on the success of that test, a new 2,500-square-foot store is under construction.

“Mall of America is more than a mall–it’s also an attraction,” said Maureen Bausch, vice president of marketing and business development of the Mall of America, in a statement. “QVC @ The Mall brings our visitors the unique experience of live television combined with the thrill of a great shopping experience–all in one location.”

QVC Inc. has signed a 10-year sponsorship agreement with Mall of America to be the “official interactive commerce partner” of the 4.2-million-square-foot mall. Shows produced from QVC @ The Mall will be broadcast over QVC.
