Giant commercial printer Quebecor World, Toronto, has extended its contract with Sears Canada for the printing of its catalogs. The contract extension is valued at more than CDN$1 billion and will run for 10 years.
Under the terms of the contract, Quebecor World will provide a variety of prepress services and print 90% of the catalogs that Sears Canada distributes across the country, some 60 million catalogs a year.
“This is one of the largest and most complex catalogue contracts ever reached in Canada,” Garry Smith, vice president of Sears Canada, said in a statement. The national retailer has doubled the number of pages in its catalogs since 1993.
