PlayStation Pushes ‘Race to the Polls’

In an ongoing effort to get young people to register and ultimately head to the voting booth, PlayStation has joined with Russell Simmons and the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN) for “Race to the Polls.”

According to the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, or Circle, the pool of potential voters includes more than 40 million Americans ages 18-29. Voter participation among this younger demographic reached an all-time low during the election in 2000.

The Race event is intended to improve voter turn-out on Nov. 2 via a limited-attendee concert on Oct. 14 that will feature performances by Ludacris, Public Enemy and Mase. Tickets are available for $20.04 at hot97.com, hsan.org or by calling Ticketmaster at 212-307-7171.
