Metro One Telecommunications Inc. of Portland, OR, has been awarded a U.S. patent for enhanced teleservices that enable inbound callers to request products and services from directory assistance operators.
“We are creating new processes and technology to provide services over the phone. This takes our TeleConcierge services to the next level,” said Timothy Timmins, president and CEO of Metro One, in a prepared statement.
The patent protects methods that Metro One has developed for telephone agents to offer concierge-like services for placing orders, purchasing tickets, seeking information and directions. It provides such services through TeleConcierge features available to people calling directory assistance operators and personal assistants by telephone.
Besides placing orders, its patented services include follow-up, next action reminder, confirmation via text messaging, prioritizing referrals and routing inbound calls to the nearest call center to expedite requests and orders.
