Parenting Magazine has rolled out a new incentive program that rewards subscribers with cash back for online purchases.
Parenting Privileges, which is offered to readers, lets moms earn rewards from than 100 online retailers. Readers register at parentingprivileges.com by entering their subscription number and can rack up to 20% in cash back rewards when making purchases at partners’ Web sites, including ToysRUs.com, and Target.com.
Participating categories include toys, books and gear, home and food, entertainment and electronics, health and beauty, apparel and accessories, travel and general retailers. For instance, subscribers can earn a 28% cash back reward for movie tickets bought on the AMC Theatres Web site, 6% in rewards on OldNavy.com purchases and 12% back on Avon.com items.
The Parenting Group, the publisher of Parenting, launched the initiative “to give back to our reader, add value for our subscribers and provide advertisers with insight into products and services that drive moms to shop online,” Walter Rosenthal, consumer marketing director for The Parenting Group, said.
The free program, which launched May 23, is the first cash-back offering for a parenting magazine, Rosenthal said. Members receive credit in the form of prepaid Visa debit card when they accumulate at least $10 in rewards.
As an added bonus, people who register for Parenting Privileges by July 15 will be entered into a sweepstakes for an all-expense-paid trip to the Almond Beach Club Resort and Spa in St. James Barbados.
Parenting Magazine is promoting the program, developed by Affinity Solutions, with a promotional message in its June issue, as well as print ads in Parenting and Babytalk magazines and online at http://www.Parenting.com. The company also plans to offer the program via direct mail and e-mail campaign efforts to reach new customers and to renewals from existing subscribers, Rosenthal said.
The group plans to run the rewards offering indefinitely, Rosenthal added.
