Madison, WI-based Oscar Mayer Corp. last week launched the first stage of a new national School House Jam campaign that will award $10,000 for music education to one school in each state.
Through a partnership with Reston, VA-based National Association for Music Education’s national conference, K-5 music teachers around the U.S. are being encouraged to submit videos (of less than three minutes) of their school chorus singing one of three Oscar Mayer jingles (the two English standards and a Spanish tune) by April 1.
A panel of judges will select the winners mid-month, after which Oscar Mayer will quickly roll out its eight Wienermobiles to visit schools to present the checks and host parties. “We won’t know where we’re going until it’s time to hit the road,” says mobile marketing manager Russ Whitacre. “This will come together pretty quickly.”
One grand-prize-winning chorus will sing in a TV spot next fall. 141 Communicator, Chicago, handles.
