The 276 lucky audience members will have the opportunity to customize their cars with a choice of color, panoramic sunroof, heated leather seats, remote start, telescoping steering wheel, adjustable pedals, OnStar Safety and Security and XM satellite radio.

Kicking off the 19th season of
The Oprah Winfrey Show, Winfrey told the audience the theme for the season was to make people’s dreams come true. After an extensive nationwide search and after receiving hundreds of letters and e-mails asking for help, the show’s staff filled the season premiere audience with people whose dreams could be fulfilled.

Winfrey also surprised a 20-year-old woman, who spent her teen years in foster care and homeless shelters but still managed to get good grades in school, with a full four-year college scholarship, including tuition, books and room and board, from SBC Communications, Inc., plus a makeover from Tyra Banks and a $10,000 back-to-school wardrobe from Express.

Later on the show, a family with eight foster children was presented with a $130,000 check from Oprah’s Angel Network to cover a mortgage, closing costs and repairs, and was surprised with furniture from Crate and Barrel and electronics from Best Buy to fill their home.
