Online Retailing Revenues Grow 300%: Survey

The total number of holiday season online shopping orders placed this year grew 270% over last year and online retail revenues spiked up 300% to more than $9 billion, according to a new study by trade organization Shop.org and Boston Consulting Group.

The two organizations collected data from leading online retailers in major gift categories between Nov. 20 and Dec. 19. Online categories surveyed included apparel, books and music, home and garden, specialty foods, electronic goods and related retailing categories, but financial services and travel.
