The U.S. online advertising market will reach $18.8 billion by 2005, ,up from $7.9 billion in 2001, according to market research firm Gartner Inc.
The company further estimated that out of the 2,800 sites now selling advertising in the U.S. the top 20 receive 80% of the revenue. In addition, year-over-year online advertising growth will be just 15% by 2005, compared with 100% in 1998.
