Office Depot Inc., the office products marketer based in Delray Beach, FL, reported net income of $57.9 million for the period ended June 24, a drop from $74.1 million for the same period last year.
For the first six months of the year, the firm reported net income of $167 million, a decline from $174.7 million for the same period in 1999.
Overall Internet Sales reached $183.5 million in the second quarter of 2000, an increase of 161% over the $70.2 million realized during the same period in 1999.
Total sales for the second quarter rose 12% to $2.6 billion from $2.3 billion in the second quarter of 1999. Sales for the first six months of 2000 increased 15% to $5.7 billion from $5 billion in the first half of 1999.
