Nissan Marketing Head Departs

Nissan marketing head Jan Thompson has left the company.

Thompson is to be replaced by Ben Poore, who is leaving his job as group marketing manager of Ford’s Lincoln Mercury unit.

Neither Thompson nor Nissan gave any explanation for her departure. Poore will become vice president of marketing communications for Nissan North America, effective Oct. 8.

Thompson took the post at Nissan in 2004 after overseeing Nissan’s direct marketing agency, The Designory.

Poore has been at Ford since 1994, holding marketing and sales positions in the U.S. and Central America.
