Nickelodeon Ups Driscoll, Elchoness in Marketing Roles

Nickelodeon has promoted Karen Driscoll as senior VP-marketing and strategic planning and Lauren Elchoness to VP-On-air and Off-channel promotions marketing, effective immediately.

In her new role, Driscoll, formerly VP-Nickelodeon brand marketing, oversees brand management of Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. brands and such properties as SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora The Explorer, Go Diego Go!, The Fairly OddParents, Zoey 101 and other TEENick series. In addition, Driscoll supervises all network advertising and is in charge of implementing long-term strategic marketing initiatives to support TV show launches, network events, consumer product programs and third-party promotions and partnerships.

Driscoll will also help direct the network’s multicultural consumer marketing efforts, educational outreach and on- and off-air events, and help plan promotions of various on- and off-air programs, including the Nickelodeon Upfront.

“Karen is a well-respected, talented executive who has taken the marketing efforts for several Nick Jr. and Nickelodeon properties to new heights,” said Pam Kaufman, executive VP-marketing and worldwide promotions, Nickelodeon, in a statement. “Her strategic and creative expertise has led to numerous achievements for the network.”

Prior to joining Nickelodeon, Driscoll served as director of marketing for KinderActive, a start-up preschool education software company.

In her new position, Elchoness oversees strategic development, positioning and execution of all Nickelodeon on- and off-channel promotions. As part of the job, Elchoness will direct and supervise ad sales promotions marketing efforts and develop pitches for clients to meet Nickelodeon’s needs. In addition, Elchoness is in charge of presenting partnership alliances to promotional partners around Nickelodeon properties, initiatives and Nick Movies.

Elchoness will also work with the ad sales team to build relationships with companies and Nickelodeon’s International Marketing Group to build global promotional opportunities.

In her former role as senior director, Elchoness supervised the development and execution of promotional programs with Nickelodeon advertisers and managed marketing relationships with Nickelodeon’s ad sales offices. Prior to joining Nickelodeon, Elchoness held marketing positions at Cartoon Network in Atlanta.

Driscoll and Elchoness, who are based out of New York City, report to Kaufman.
