Pop, Drop and Yahoo Block It
Frightening news from ISP, Yahoo! this morning, as they have announced they will block all commercial email going forward. The only exception is their own commercial email, which is sent about 17 times per day. They have also announced a monopoly-driven partnership with Ticketmaster, who has broken all anti-monopoly rules in the United States for decades, having formed their own monopoly and charging us $259 per ticket for a Lindsay Lohann concert and even $179 for the New Kids on the Block reunion tour that I went to last summer. Other than Yahoo! internal, messages from TicketMaster will be the only other commercial email permitted by the ISP for inbox delivery.
AdTech Amsterdam
Ad:Tech sponsors have cited "too much partying" as the primary reason behind moving all future Ad:Tech shows to Amsterdam. They are contemplating keeping London and Shanghai, but Ad:Tech conventions on U.S. soil have just become "far too costly." The organization has been sued by two or more individuals for five consecutive shows following people slipping, tripping, dipping and jipping after too much sipping. Ad:Tech has previously endorsed beer gardens, wine tasting and margarita making on the floor within the conference halls and convention centers. The various sponsors as well as hotels and halls themselves are suing Ad:Tech founders for "negligence" and "irresponsible administration of alcohol." The real trouble came when it was exposed that teenage affiliates were served beer by various sponsors at the last San Francisco show.
Affirmative Affiliate Action
Several states have adopted a quota for online marketing Companies to establish a certain percentage of women and minorities within each firm. Exhibiting stats across every firm in our sector, it was discovered that the industry was "far too male" and "way over-populated with Caucasians and Asians." On January 1, 2008, in New York, California and Florida it will be illegal for any firm to be any greater than 80% male, and punishable by law for any organization to be without at minimum two non-Caucasians or Asians.
