RESEARCH IN MOTION: announced yesterday that it has acquired Ascendent Systems, which will allow the Blackberry maker to deliver enhanced voice solutions to customers. Ascendent will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of RIM. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
GEYSER PEAK WINERY: San Rafael, CA named Duncan/Channon, San Francisco, agency of record for its Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Duncan/Channon has handled Geyser Peak’s sister brand Clos du Bois since 2001.
