SUBARU OF AMERICA INC.: has appointed Kevin Mayer to director of marketing communications, effective March 19. In his new role, Mayer will oversee the company’s advertising and marketing communication initiatives. He most recently worked at Colby and Partners as senior vice president and chief marketing officer. He also served as account director for the American Suzuki Motor Co. account. Prior to that, Mayer was director of advertising and marketing for Mitsubishi Motors North America. In that role, he handle advertising, product marketing, interactive, lead management and experiential marketing for the company.
THE BABY EINSTEIN CO. has named Susan McLain vice president and general manager. In her new post, McLain is in charge of managing strategy development, market growth, consumer communication and product expansion for the company. Prior to that, McLain worked as vice president of Buena Vista Home Entertainment Marketing for North American. During that time, she managed the company’s preschool, Disney Channel and TV on DVD businesses and new product launches.
