ARMITRON: has signed a licensing deal with Chorion to produce watches for the “Mr. Men & Little Miss” brand. The property is based on the original book series by Roger Hargreaves. Other licensed categories for the brand include headwear, jewelry, stationery, T-shirts, backpacks, slippers, pet accessories, apparel, underwear, bedding, active wear and sleepwear. The watches will be available in stores by summer. Products are available at retailers such as Kohl’s, Fred Segal, Delia’s, Nordstrom, Kitson, Barnes & Noble, Gap Kids and Target.
TACO BELL: is rolling out a new Grill-to-Order cooking method designed to save water, energy and money. The equipment, which already is operating in half of the company’s stores, will conserve 300 million gallons of water per year. The company plans to install the new grills in its 5,600 restaurants by 2010.
