The Internet games firm Shockwave.com, a division of AtomShockwave Corp., has launched an advertising network for targeting online game players.
Initially the Shockwave.com Immersive Network will have the capacity to deliver up to 12 million online ad impressions per month. Its capacity will be expanded to more than 50 million impressions per month by early 2006, as more online games are introduced.
Ad impressions incorporated in online games will typically run 3 to 7 seconds.
“The Shockwave.com Immersive Network will offer advertisers new opportunities to reach one of the most active gaming communities,” said Dave Williams, general manager of Shockwave.com in a statement.
Shockwave.com will offer extensive reporting services on audience impressions, day of week, time of day, creative rotation, frequency caps and geographic targeting.
