Independent Christian Catalogs plans to issue a store-traffic catalog for Catholics just in time for the holidays.
Silent Night, Holy Night is being developed as the Christmas version of the firm’s spring book New Beginnings, which launched in February. Since then, some 230,000 copies of New Beginnings have been handed out or mailed to customers by 70 Catholic and other Christian stores throughout the United States. About 500,000 Christmas catalogs will be distributed to more than 100 religious gift stores this fall.
ICC, which publishes a variety of catalogs for Christian retailers, originally planned to enter the Catholic market with its purchase of Spring Harbor, a Catholic catalog published by Ingram Book Co. in LaVerne, TN.
But poor design and a limited number of products prompted a decision to scrap the title and start anew. The firm hired a marketing consultant well-versed in the Catholic market to aid in the design of New Beginnings. The catalog’s look was created by Left Coast Designs, a studio in Portland, OR.
