McDonald’s Corp., Oak Brook, IL, has added a new spin to its 10-year-old Monopoly sweeps by letting players choose their prize.
Pick Your Prize runs through Aug. 9 and lets winners choose from three prizes in eight categories (cars, vacations, shopping sprees, cash, diamonds, gold). As usual, gamepieces on fry boxes and drink cups offer instant-win or collect-and-win options: Consumers match the Monopoly property and number on the gamepiece with the property on a game board.
Those who collect all the pieces in one section get the prize they choose in that category. Also new this year: a desktop application at mcdonalds.com that lets players view prizes and the game board.
