Some 6,200 delegates attended the DMD New York Conference during the first two days, Connie LaMotta, media consultant of DMD New York, said. The number of Wednesday attendees could not be confirmed by press time.
There were 408 exhibitors.
“By the second day, we reached close to where we were last year,” LaMotta said. There were about 6,000 delegates in 2001.
The conference, held Monday through Wednesday, was at the Javits Center for the first time. In recent years, the exhibition has been on several floors of the New York Hilton.
The change in venue has been “tremendous,” LaMotta said. “For the most part, exhibitors said it was great being on one floor.”
Exhibitors told DIRECT Newsline they were pleased with Tuesday’s traffic, and seemed moderately satisfied with the show overall.
Some 48% of the booth space for this year has already been sold for 2003, LaMotta said.
The Javits Center has been reserved for 2003 and the 2004 shows.
