Live From Chicago: CADM Pro-Bono Program Soars

Direct From the Heart, the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing’s pro-bono initiative, is exceeding expectations.

CADM members contributed $4.2 million in goods and services during the past 12-months–a big jump from the $582,000 when the program launched last year. Better still, “we have more people willing to donate now than nonprofits available to be helped,” said CADM spokeswoman Rosalie Harris.

The difference this year, noted Harris, is members are taking on entire marketing plans for these organizations instead of just donating a tiny portion of their needs. Nonprofits represent significant revenue for many agencies, she said, so it made sense to establish a clearinghouse of these companies for members and to showcase their good deeds at Chicago DM Days, which concludes today.
